Becky Stowe, renowned artist and owner of Beach Memories Art Gallery, is perhaps the first, and maybe the only, artist in the United States to commit virtually all of herpaintings to subjects of the Beach Music and Shag Community. She has concentrated on the places, mostly just memories today, which were significant in the development of the Shag and Beach Music. Herart has captured and replicated authentic beach and shagging experiences and historic places. Stowe's pen and ink drawings and mixed media paintings of places such as "The Original Pad" and "The Ocean Drive Pavilion" are treasured memorabilia by collectors around the world. Her work ensures their place in history. Through herartistic talent and passion, Beckyhas extended the popularity of Beach Music and shaggin’ to art lovers across the globe!

Since 1987, shehas created a special commemorative limited edition print twice per year for S.O.S(Society of Stranders) events where over 10,000 shaggers come to town. Those classic Beach Music and shaggin’ pieces of art have graced the cover of The Carefree Timesfor Spring Safari and Fall Migration every year since 1992. Her spring of 2008 masterpiece was a tribute to the legendary Beach Music icon “Fat Harold” Bessent whom she credits with being “the man that made North Myrtle Beach the ‘shagging capital of the world.’” Her work is destined to be prized by collectors and museums alike.

In 1993, shewas designated "The Official Artist in Residence for The Society of Stranders. Shereceived a CAMMY Industry Appreciation Award In 1996. Shealso received the 2000 S.O.S. Chairman's Lifetime Achievement Award. Shebecame a Sand Flea Honorary Living Legend in 2001.
